Southern Oregon University alumna Nada Acevedo worked with Career Athletes last year when they placed her at her current position with Elavon. "I was very impressed with their constant follow-up with me, even after I was hired," recalls Acevedo. "They called a month after my hire to make sure that this was a good fit and that I enjoyed my job. The follow-up continued. I have been working for Elavon for 16 months now, and they are still in touch with me, checking to see how my job is going. They seem to care very much about people they work with."
The current economic conditions led Davidson College graduate Elizabeth Redpath to CA. Previously in a commission-only sales job that didn't survive the economic downturn, Redpath found herself pulling out her résumé. "After a few months of unsuccessful job searching, a good friend recommended CA as a possible resource. I e-mailed my résumé to CA the next morning, and by the end of the day, I was on the phone with Meg Ryan discussing a couple of different pharmaceutical sales opportunities," explains Redpath. Ryan is the National Recruiting Manager, over the placement division of CA. "Meg asked a lot of pointed but fair questions to discern my personal and professional strengths and weaknesses. If she was going to put me in front of a potential employer, she was going to do so with the utmost confidence in my innate abilities, and she was also going to ensure that I was well prepared for the interview process."
In a month's time, Redpath's future took a turn for the better and she credits CA for the turnaround that led to two job offers. CA continued to work with her, helping her to decide which position was the best fit for her. "I've worked with several recruiters in my career and CA was the most attentive, the most responsive, and the most genuine in their desire to match me with the right position, not just the first position that came along, "says Redpath.
CA success Eddie Peña echoes these sentiments. A graduate of Missouri State, Peña is a sales representative for Stryker Endoscopy, a supplier of medical products. Peña visited the CA Web site, completed the account profile and uploaded his resume. Within twenty-four hours he was contacted by CA.
"My overall experience with Career Athletes was second to none," says Peña. "They did a very good job servicing me as a client, and the personal attention that they gave me was beyond what I have experienced in the past. The overall experience was great. I would recommend this to any former college athlete or current college athlete that is getting ready to go into the job marketplace looking for a potentially successful and rewarding job. Career Athletes works very hard getting those positions and working with recruiters with these top companies that they have on their Web site."
