More than 2,600 Student-Athletes have attended Career Athletes On-Campus Seminars in just two weeks! Read what Employers, Athletic Directors and Athletes are saying.
Career Athletes Spring Campus Seminars are off to a great start. We have already, within the last two weeks, conducted our on-campus seminars to 14 universities with more than 2,600 student-athletes in attendance. Career Athletes on-campus seminars provide student-athletes with the career education they need to ensure a successful transition from college to their professional career. With the conditions of the current job market, Career Athletes understands how urgent it is to provide career education to student-athletes, which is why our goal is to provide on-campus seminars to 152 universities across the country in 2010.
Testimonials from recent Career Education Seminars:
"I just finished a class/club talk in coordination with Career Athletes, on the campus of Missouri State University, and felt it was important to pass along my feedback from the experience. In a matter of a few weeks, Career Athletes was able to put us in front of 300+ student athletes from MSU's campus. After being around the campus for the past 8 years, I can tell you it would take me 15 scheduled talks to present to around 300 students. We not only had the students' attention, but we were fully supported on the campus by the Athletic Director and his staff. I can honestly say this was a great experience and a great use of our time and resources to get maximum exposure to the type of students we look for." -Aaron Tanner, Managing Director, Northwestern Mutual
"As someone who has worked in the career services area for nearly 20 years, I felt the seminars conducted by Career Athletes were right on target with what we have been trying to convey to students and student-athletes the whole time. Ironically, sometimes it takes student-athletes hearing it from someone outside of the college to make it sound more relevant. Several of the PSC student-athletes have come in and visited with me about Career-Athletes and noted they now realize what they still need to do in order to be successful once they leave PSC. Personally, I view our newly-established relationship with Career-Athletes as a tremendous positive for our student-athletes as it will give them one more avenue of possible assistance in developing their career plans." - Ted Harshbarger, Director of Transition Services/Instructor at Peru State College "I wanted to thank you for coming to UW-Superior and sharing your knowledge to myself and the rest of the Yellowjacket athletes. I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to sit down with my teammates and I to discuss ways to get experience outside of an internship. Being a baseball player makes it difficult finding and planning for internships. I just wanted to let you know that your information was greatly appreciated." - Shaun V.
"I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to come to UW-Whitewater. I walked away with a lot of useful information, especially about the different ways to explain your skills and experiences as an athlete during the interview process." - Michelle D.
